Sometimes, you just can't - or don't want to - just "go out and buy one" - whatever it is...

It's times like that when someone with Harvey's welding and fabrication experience really comes in handy.  Somestimes it just makes sense to have something that is made rather than bought.

Harvey can weld broken metal objects back together, or he can fabricate entirely new ones.

Need a custom metal frame to hold up a sign?  Or a replacement metal part that just can't be tracked down? Talk to Harvey and see what he can do for you.

Fabrication services aren't limited to metal work though, if you need something built for purpose in timber, there's a pretty good chance Harvey will be able to sort it out for you.

What do you do when a replacement part is going to cost you $1500 as part of a kit, when all you need is one part of the kit?  Let Kactus Engineering fabricate the part for you and save yourself a LOT of money! Original part on the left, Kactus part on the right of picture.

The Story of Pete's Bakers Oven

Pete is a man with a passion for baking sourdough bread.  While once he just used to take over the kitchen in his home, things have progressed and now he needs an oven better suited to cooking in greater quantities.

Fortunately, for Pete, he tracked down this amazing old "Metters" wood fired oven.  It needed a fair bit of work to turn it into the right configuration, and get it cleaned up and ready for baking. dvcHarvey was just the man for this job.  Not only is it in his skill set, but he does love a bit of sourdough bread as part of the payment.

From that ... to this...

So, give the man some time in the shed to cut this oven down to a size that Pete wanted, and spend an awful lot of time reinforcing this oven so that it will bake long into the future.

Once the framework was back together again, it was up to Harvey to create a fire box underneath the oven, As a full combustion stove,  the fire box had been side by side with the oven.

This didn't suit what Pete needed for his sourdough bread, so Harvey designed and built the firebox that went underneath (as seen in the picture on the right).  Harvey's knowledge of required temps and

heat box sizes (from being a keen cook and BBQ fanatic) ensured that the fire box had the heat required to bake up to 18 loaves of sourdough at a time.

From there, Harvey assembled and welded the oven together, built a stand to hold it off the ground, and painted it the beautiful pot belly black you can see on the far right.

Not a detail was missed with this amazing baker's oven.
